October 2025Half Term Trip to Tate Modern
The Giacometti exhibit is in an area of Tate Modern called the Tanks, where oil used to be stored. The spot lights create interesting shadows and highlight the sculpture’s textures. I really liked the sculpture called Man Pointing, Giacometti made it in 1947.
I found some other figurative sculptures by other artists during my visit too.

My sculpture based on Man Pointing
First i made a wire frame in the shape of my sculpture. Then I covered the whole thing in tin foil to give it the shape I wanted. Then I covered it in paper maché. When the paper maché was dry I covered it again with clay.
